A Tasty Imagination

Do you ever read a recipe
and think that you can taste it?
I can smell each-and-every spice they list -
the flavouring - all of it.

I hear my spoon against the bowl,
mixing it all just right;
I feel the warmth of the oven, too,
and see the inside light.

I picture myself touching the cake
to see that it is done.
Do you read a recipe like that -
or am I the only one?
