In The Stillness

When everything is quiet
in the stillness of the night,
My ear upon the pillow hears
a tiny snowflake light.

Things that go unnoticed
in the broad day light
Are whispering for me to listen
in the stillness of the night.

It is the blessed quiet
that doesn’t come in day;
I LISTEN to that quiet
in a special, reverend way.

Answers come to questions
that I worried about that day;
I know that God is talking to me
in His quiet, loving way.

Whispers from a soothing breeze,
the whistle of a train;
Forgotten in the daylight -
I hear at night - no strain.

When everything is quiet
in the stillness of the night,
Everything is clearer,
as if there is a light.

That light comes from heaven
and surely lights my way;
A Light that lays a path for me
to follow through the day.

I hear, I listen, I thank my God
for His Wisdom, shining bright,
When everything is quiet
in the stillness of the night.
