~ REMEMBERANCE DAY ~
Some men and women choose to be
the ones to help keep our country free;
They give their all and spare no thought
but to let us safely be.
Today, and in wars past and gone,
we’ll ne’er forget the brave;
So many died so we could live
in peace - the way they gave.
Some returned with loss of limbs
and horror in their minds;
Others died and were left behind -
but not forgotten - death binds.
Give for the veterans, young and old -
wear a poppy to show you care.
Attend a service or bow your head -
a minute of silent prayer.
They fought to keep our country free -
knowing the cost it might be;
Loved-ones still mourn, so November 11th -
show respect and dignity.
“Remembrance Day” is really a gift -
a day to show our thanks;
The love of our Canadian veterans -
we’ll always remember their ranks.
Wear a poppy; place a wreath;
teach your children why
November 11th is a special day -
We are free because they died.
On the sea; in the air;
and more upon the ground -
All fighting for Canada.
Our love will always abound.
THANK YOU TO ALL VETERANS, EVERYWHERE!
