WATCH THE BIG PARADE

See the clowns cavorting 'round
And balancing on stilts;
Some riding bicycles and cars
And two are dressed in kilts.

Tenor drums, the big bass drum,
Are sounding forth the beat
To help the brass and glockenspiel
To time the marching feet.

Flags unfurl, the graceful twirl,
Batons are hurled away -
In time retrieved by skillful hands -
The crowd, one long h-o-o-r-a-y!

Banners held up high, with pride,
Displayed for all to see;
The people clap and give a cheer
As happy as can be!

How we love a big parade
With mounted horses, groomed;
Their flowing manes and braided tails -
Their heads bedecked and plumed.

Drums, we barely hear them, now;
The music seems to fade -
While others line main street downtown,
To watch the big parade!
