Different Languages

Language is communicating
in many different ways;
Some of us speak and express in words
whatever we want to say.
Your native tongue might not be mine
but, somehow, we get along.
Music is universal, so we
all enjoy a song.
Flowers nod, bees hum,
birds chirp differently;
Still, it's language we accept -
a gift most naturally.
Hands speak 'sign' for the deaf to hear;
it's really most remarkable.
Body language tells a tale
if you are not bilingual.
Then, of course, there is the pen
with power in the written word;
With respect we speak with care
knowing the pen is heard.
