"Thoughts of Children"

Promises aren't meant to be broken;
They are something we know we will keep.
It's better to say, "I'll do my best"
than to hear a little child weep.

Point of View

One day I stretched out on the floor - a funny thing to do.
I wanted to see what it was like from a child's point of view.
Children draw two dots for a nose; did you ever wonder why?
Two giant holes is what they see - enough to make them cry.
It's a simple thing to get right down and look them in the eye;
That's what I'll do to talk to them and we can play 'I spy'.
