The Storm

The rumbling thunder rolled across
The blackened sky last night;
Jagged lightning pierced the air
As it filled the scene with light.

Refreshing rain was teaming down;
The parched earth quenched its thirst.
Nature changed to greener shades
After such a huge cloudburst.

The storm has moved, now, toward the east
As plant life it redeems,
Washing hills and valleys down,
Leaving swollen lakes and streams.
