Solitude
I walk into the garden
as the sun is coming up;
The dew is on each waking flower
and birds begin to sup.
This is when I thank my God
for all His heavenly glory;
Then, just before day's after-glow,
He tells another story.
Trees are reflected
in the river, calm and clear;
The splendour of a sunset
is ever-so near.
I find a oneness, here with God
-
a unity and calm;
His unlimited supply of joy
will carry through 'til dawn.
The moon and stars watch over me
as I lay my head to rest
And pray I'll tend God's garden - earth -
"Please help me do my best."
