Enthralled with Autumns glory anew,
Viewing each and every hue,
I watch as lazy leaves float down,
As brilliant as jewels in a crown.
Garnet, ruby, onyx, citrine
Silently fall on grass once green;
Beauty that warms on chilly days,
Preparing me for restful ways.
Autumn - a time to fill our nest;
Enjoy the bounty of its best.
The harvest season - all too short
To fill our larder by pint and quart.
Apples picked right off the tree,
Through the winter will satisfy me.
Carrots, potatoes, squash for stew
To keep us healthy and renew.
Autumn - the season of work and play;
I look forward to something new each day;
Blessed with bounty planned for all -
A gift from our Saviour - given each fall.
