Along the Way
Glimpse a monarch butterfly
flitting in the air;
Hear the birds up in the tree
sing without a care.
Smell the rose and lavender,
see lilies and sweet-peas;
The setting sun will move a heart
-
it's done with evening's ease.
The many-coloured leaves of autumn
fall much too soon;
Diamond stars, on a clear night,
pay homage to the moon.
These things and more are mine
to enjoy
any night or day;
They are part of nature's beauty
that I glimpse along the way.
